so far so good: power supply was defective ... I wrote customer service an email and Bridget not only read my email but also answered it and said she would send me another one: that kind of service, alone, is enough for 5 stars ... of course that 5 stars has nothing at all to do with the product itself ... after I've had it operating for a while, I will come back and try to leave more info

I purchased this product through Amazon a week ago and I'm very happy about it. I searched for hours for SATA to USB connections and compared similar products and read all the reviews especially the 1 star ratings to get a complete picture of pros and cons and this one had almost no bad reviews except for complains about late shipping and malfunctioning units which happens on mass production scale so I went ahead and bought it. I bought it to read the data of the 3TB HDDs on my laptop since I don't own a desktop right now and this did the job just as I imagined it would - Fast - Sturdy and easy to use. The only thing that I wish was the orientation of the harddisk, I wish it was setup to be horzintal instead of vertical but despite that, it's really stable which was a major concern when I was waiting for it to be shipped. Great product, worth the money. 5 stars!

Good quality piece. I had a couple of old laptop drives that I had no idea what was on them. I got this unit, plugged it in, inserted an old drive, turned it on, & there it was showing up in my list of drives on my computer. Cool. Works great.

I purchased this through Amazon and as usual, it arrived day early, no complaints there! I ordered this product as my third HD was not allowing my computer, WIN 7 SP1, to operate properly after a WIN defender update. After stopping Defender, updating my Bios, there was improvement, but the computer was still not right. Disconnecting the third HD and the computer was fine. I was hoping by connecting it via USB, the problem would not return. This product has worked as promised and via USB 3.0, very fast. I highly recommend this product.

Bought this item through Amazon and its exactly as advertised. The 3.0 connection is fast and reliable. I use this as a desktop accessory to read customers drive and recover personal data. I would recommend this product to anyone needing to read drives and fast data copy.

This is the most amazing device I have ever used in my 7 years of using a Laptop for the first time!! I recently had my internal hard drive crash and had to replace it. After finding this item on Amazon and reading its capabilities, I bought it with high hopes it would be able to read any of my old and new 2.5" SATA drives. Upon inserting my 2.5" hd, and to my HIGH PRAISE & EXCITEMENT, this Cable Matters works with the most amazing speed and efficiency! I am pleased beyond all of my expectations! The device displays in my "computer" section as if it were still inside my laptop; I so easily accessed ALL of my files on this hd. As a photographer, I use up a lot of memory in storage alone, so this device is the BEST addition to my Digital Photography needs just short of my Camera, SD cards and Laptop!!! I HIGHLY recommend this item.
